About the Faculty

Ms.Heena is an Assistant Professor at, the School of Law, GDGU. She brings in 5+ years of teaching experience in different genres of laws such as International Humanitarian Law, Public International Laws, Family Laws, and Labour Laws, etc.

Prior to joining GDGU, she was working as Assistant Professor at Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad. She’s pursuing her PhD from The National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata and She completed her LLM in International Laws from The National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata, and her B.A.LLB from Aligarh Muslim University, Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, she also qualified for UGC NET (Law) held in December 2019.

Course Structure

The course is structured into Six Modules, each covering a different aspect of competition law:

Module 1: Introduction to Human Rights

Topics:

Definition and concept of human rights: Fundamental principles, historical evolution, and contemporary significance.

International human rights framework: The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), key international covenants (ICCPR, ICESCR).

Indian context: key constitutional provisions (Articles 12-35), fundamental rights, and (Article 36-51) directive principles of state policy.

Key civil and political rights: Freedom of speech, right to a fair trial, personal liberty.

Judicial protection: landmark Supreme Court judgments, the role of judicial review and public interest litigation.

Institutional mechanisms: The role of National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs), redressal mechanisms, and complaint procedures.
